Dimitri Vassiliou

Dimitri Vassiliou, Chief Operating Officer, is UIF’s world traveler. He is first generation American and spent four years of his early childhood in Japan and Indonesia. He majored in international business at Lehigh University and travels overseas annually. Recently, Dimitri traveled to Bogota, Colombia for a mentoring project with Endeavor.
Dimitri utilizes his cultural experience to bring a fresh and unique perspective as he helps lead UIF into the future. Dimitri has worked with UIF for almost a decade, first as a technology development consultant before

officially joining the foundation in 2006.

 

Since joining UIF, Dimitri has helped the foundation grow exponentially, both through technology and human capital acquisitions, which he expects to continue doing far into the future.

 

In addition to his professional life, Dimitri has numerous hobbies as his worldly nature keeps him passionate about learning new endeavors. In additions to sailing, in June 2007 he earned his private pilot license. He continues to stay active in martial arts where he holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

 

Schooling, Organizations, and Awards:

  • B.A., Lehigh University

  • Started an Internet design firm while a junior in college

  • Worked for AT&T and became their youngest internet sales engineer who managed multiple markets throughout the U.S.During his tenure, he was AT&T’s most successful sales engineer consistently producing the highest revenues.

  • Hired as one of ten corporate advisors for PECO-Adelphia in 1999

  • Started Olympia Design, one of several entrepreneurial ventures

  • Founding partner of CheapO Records, a privately-owned recording studio and indie label
